Charging infrastructure is a land use and grid-planning decision

EV charging is typically scoped as a technology deployment. The siting decision behind it determines development patterns for a decade.

Where charging infrastructure is placed shapes what follows it: commercial density, grid reinforcement priorities, and, in several master planned districts we have reviewed, the sequencing of adjacent housing. Treated as a standalone technology rollout, most of that downstream value is left unaccounted for in the initial business case.

In the districts we advise on, charging infrastructure is planned alongside on site generation and storage capacity from the master plan stage, sized to the district's full build-out, not retrofitted after the buildings are complete.
